Art Club Band Logo and Record Sleeve Artwork

For this project, I crafted the logo and record sleeve artwork for a fictional Glaswegian band named Art Club. The band creatively blends various genres, including jazz, Afrobeat, electronica, and soul, resulting in a rich and dynamic soundscape that sets them apart in the music scene. To effectively capture the vibrant and eclectic nature of their music, I chose a palette of bold, contrasting colors that evoke a sense of joy and energy. Additionally, I selected a distinctive typeface for the logo that not only emphasizes the band’s unique identity but also enhances the overall visual appeal of the artwork, making it eye-catching and memorable for potential listeners.

Deliverables include logos, branding identity, record sleeve artwork, T-shirts, and a concert poster.

Logos and Brand Identity

The brand identity for Art Club was born from the logo design, where I explored various concepts that truly captured the band's eclectic sound. After extensive exploration, I crafted a striking wordmark logo featuring the band's bold, distinctive font, called Culture, presented in a stunning gradient of vibrant yellow and orange.

With the logo in place, I turned my attention to refining the color palette further to amplify Art Club's image as a must-follow band, one that resonates with their captivating sound. To beautifully complement the dynamic yellow and orange gradient of the logo, I curated a secondary palette that incorporates turquoise, cream, and pale lavender. In crafting a secondary color palette, my goal was to select shades that would not only complement but also enrich the warm yellow and vibrant orange featured in the primary logo. To achieve this, I immersed myself in the band's soundscape, analyzing the emotions and textures conveyed through each musical genre. From this exploration, I chose a deep turquoise that evokes a sense of calm and depth, a light lavender that introduces a touch of softness and creativity, and a warm cream that offers a subtle warmth and balance. Together, these colors enhance the logo's vibrancy while also reflecting the band's unique musical identity and evocative style.

Together, these carefully crafted elements ensure that Art Club's brand identity is not only cohesive but also unforgettable to consumers, solidifying its place in the music scene.

Record Sleeve Artwork

When designing the record sleeve for Art Club’s extended play, “Crystal Children,” my objective was to encapsulate the mesmerizing essence of their eclectic sound, which effortlessly intertwines jazz, Afrobeat, electronica, and soul. This rich musical tapestry inspired a vibrant color palette that vividly reflects the dynamic energy of each genre, showcasing warm oranges and yellows alongside cool purples and turquoises. By harmonizing these striking colors with a bold geometric crystal design, I crafted a visually stunning record sleeve that powerfully embodies the unique spirit of this extraordinary band.
