Seaside Stoneware Ceramics

Seaside Stoneware is a concept for an innovative ceramics shop situated in the vibrant heart of Brighton, UK. At the helm is Jacklin Burton, a passionate ceramics artist dedicated to helping clients explore their creative potential.

Seaside Stoneware invites everyone to discover the joy of self-expression and the satisfaction of crafting unique, handmade pieces. Each session at Seaside Stoneware is designed to ignite inspiration and foster a sense of community among ceramic enthusiasts, regardless of skill level.

Deliverables include logos, branding identity, business cards, ephemera, print and social media ads, apparel, a website landing page, and exterior signage.

Logos and Brand Identity

In designing the logo for Seaside Stoneware, I aimed to capture the essence of the company’s philosophy by harmonizing natural beauty with creative imperfection. Drawing inspiration from the Brighton coastline where the shop is located, I crafted a design that reflects the artisanal quality of the ceramics by incorporating a negative space wave motif into the pottery jug. Each element of the logo evokes a sense of tranquility while celebrating the unique, handcrafted nature of the ceramic pieces created by the clients. By embracing subtle asymmetries within the jug and utilizing a blue color palette, the logo embodies the spirit of creativity that flourishes in the coastal environment, inviting customers to experience the warmth and character of Seaside Stoneware.

In designing the color palette for Seaside Stoneware, I drew inspiration from the serene beauty of the Brighton coastline. The primary colors reflect the tranquil blues of the ocean, while the secondary palette captures the soft, sandy neutrals of the surrounding landscape. This combination evokes a sense of calm and a connection to the natural world. I selected each color carefully to represent the handcrafted spirit of the ceramics and to complement the unique designs of the pottery. By incorporating these natural tones, the palette emphasizes the artisanal quality of the work and invites customers to envision the coastal environment in which these pieces were created, enhancing their overall experience with Seaside Stoneware.
